The camera that you will use for FaceRig, needs to have as little image noise ( grain) as possible and a decent resolution. FaceRig works with any 480p and over webcam. 720p is recommended as well as 30 or 60 fps. 1080p is a bit overkill. Anyone with a webcam can digitally embody awesome characters. It is meant to be an open creation platform so everybody can make their own characters, backgrounds or props and import them into FaceRig. FaceRig is a cool application that enables users to overlap digital characters over their faces.

FaceRig doesn’t really have a purpose. It’s like the developers took a really powerful technology that allows people to animate digital characters in real time, and made a simple app. Somehow, even it’s actually more than that. First of all, only a small number of characters are available for free, but they should be more than enough for users to get a sense of how it works. FaceRig comes with full animated digital characters, face masks, and even simple superimposed images. Users can either take pictures or record videos during the animation process, and that’s pretty much it. The application can also be used to share the images and videos with other people. Also, don’t forget to allow FaceRig to map your face before trying to use it.
